2009 edit:  These are some pictures of what could be seen on the way to the train station a few years back.  It is more difficult to see Mt. Fuji now that the small supermarket/shopping mall blocks the view, and the new apartment buildings going up may obliterate it completely.  I still miss bunny, still remember when I threw my back out, and am still thankful to the friend who ferried me to the doctor when I couldn't move.  Speaking of doctors, I went to the dentist yesterday for some work on the left side.  He removed an old crown and put in a temporary one along with a "men working" sign.  Next week he brings in the power shovels for further excavation.  This morning I am having trouble on the right side with noticible nerve pain when I taste or try to chew anything, so I am off to see what is going on there. There is bit of swelling, too, I think.  I have troubles here when I fly in small airplanes, too.  I get pressure buildup in the right ear and the tastebuds in my tongue go a bit numb on the right side.  So where do I go, internal medicine or ear, nose and throat?

Later edit - a couple hours and $80 later I have antibiotics and pain killers.  They sent me to internal medicine and ear, nose and throat.  I have a swollen gland, and it could be a mumpish reoccurrance or it could be a bacterial infection for which case I have antibiotics and pain killers.  And I am supposed to go visit MIL in Kagoshima tomorrow...  How come I get sick recently before I have to go there?  Anyway, the CAT scan that I got at the hospital showed that I have a very lovely brain.  I should have the picture printed out and put it on a t-shirt.  The pain killers are working.  This ailment would have been a REALLY good way to go on a diet.  I mean, eating just wasn't worth the effort!!

2003 version: Hello to all, and sorry to have been away for awhile.  Bunny passed away a few weeks ago, finally succumbing to the nasty infection that she had in her jaw, so I may have been a bit out of sorts.  I think that I have handled it all quite well.  We were able to "see her off" and tell her how glad that we had been having her live with us, and to wait for us on the other side.  Dunno if this is theologically sound or not, but I don't care. Sprained my back the other day, but I will recover and survive.  Pilgy, thanks for taking me and my back to the doctor the other day!
