Papa's Restaurant in Lake Luzerne 8/28/2004
Here are some pictures of a place that my brother John said that I absolutely had to visit, and he certainly was right! Thanks for the information!! It is a place called Papa's and is situated on a river, making for total dining delight. We met Papa on the way in, and he was kind enough to allow us a picture with his leading lady.
Here are some views from the terrace of the restaurant, and we see an elderly couple enjoying their lunch while listening to the waterfall to the right.
If you thought that you wanted to go here before, now all of you will be thundering to beat down the door. After some great hamburgers, it was time for dessert, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Satisfied customers are the best advertisement, thanks to Mom and Dad. Here is my Sundae with hot fudge and whipped cream, that I wanted to preserve forever. Maybe I will make it my new wallpaper and continue to enjoy it!
I checked on the Internet and found that Papa has a website, which is http://www.papasicecream.com/ if any of you want to pay this great place a cybervisit! (2014 - Papas has since been sold to a new owner. The service is not quite the same, but the scenery is just as delightful.)
Here are a last couple of pictures and then we return to Japan. This lovely old Hudson was parked next to Papa's, and from the license plate we can guess who the owner is! Go around the corner from Papa's and you can have another visual treat!
If you turn around 180 degrees there is an antique shop. I think it was on this trip that I picked up a turkey salt and pepper shaker set. One of the pair got broken in the 2011 quake, but Alycia was kind enough to find me another set of turkeys that are actually nicer. Thank you!
