Here is a picture from a recent stroll around the 'hood. Thank goodness for zoom cameras that help us eliminate unwanted accessories from the scenery!
More is not necessarily better. There is a great deal of construction going on in this area, and already the green is being eaten away. We used to be able to see Mt. Fuji from the Wakabadai Station area, but the view has now been blocked by a small shopping mall that contains a third supermarket within a three minute walk from the station that we did not really need. We can still hike up the road to a hill to see Mt. Fuji on a clear day, but I miss the view that we used to have. I wonder if we will hear any pheasants seeking companionship this spring. I hope that they have not all left for the shrinking undeveloped areas.
