Well, what a lovely day today turned out to be!  I was subbing in 9th grade and got to see some of the kids that I had taught when they were in 7th grade.  It is really very nice to walk into a room as a substitute and have the kids yell "やった!!” (Whoopee!)  I also had another class activity with 10th graders after school, and they had a happy reaction, too.  Dunno why, since I have never taught them.  All I do it yell at them for rolling their skirts up at the wasteband.  I tell them that one roll is ok, but NOT three because it doesn't look nice on the stairs.  Come on girlies, figure it out!  Haha!  I met up with some of the 7th graders on the way to the train station and told them to have a nice weekend.  I was getting blank looks back, so I translated it for them.  いい週末を。That is, ii shumatsu o.  Then one of the kids says "Who's Iishu Matsuo?"  She mistook it for somebody's name, and we all had a good laugh.  Let's see, what kanji could we use?  飯井洲 松男 is what they decided on.

This is our school, Tamasei Gakuin, a mission school associated with the Church of God.  Crick on the name to go to our website.
