Hub said that he might have been talking in his sleep when he mentioned the zoo, and we ended up just walking around the 'hood. We did see some animals, but they were little ones.
These ants were cooperating to drag home a delicious dried worm.
This is my favorite picture of the day, an ant trying to take a dandelion seed home. This litter feller is pulling with all his might, but the seed is stuck! I wish I could have helped, but I would have just scared it off.
This is a Hebi Ichigo (Snake Strawberry), and the biggest, loveliest one I have ever seen. I had never tried one before, and this was just irresistible. It was kind of spongy and didn't have much of a taste. I spat it out just to be safe.
Ok, I know that this is gross, but God even paints the gross stuff prettily. This is another dead worm, not a dead unko, which is Japanese for poop.
We saw these black beetles running around all over the place, and judging from a beetle orgy that I stumbled on, there are gonna be a lot more of them running around. I don't want to embarrass any of the bugs by posting indiscreet photos. This one had his hood polished nicely for the occasion.
Do you know what this is? You have all seen the adult form.
It is just about rice planting season!
