  • Ei and I were walking home tonight and saw a (What is that lumpity-lumping in our path?) turtle making its way across the sidewalk in the direction of the road.  We are brave women and had no trouble picking it up and stopping it from careening to certain death.  The thing must have been a good six inches from stem to stern,  and we decided that allowing it to attempt crossing the busy road was not in the turtle's best interest.  It was obviously a stray pet, so we asked the fellow who lived in the nearest house if he was missing a turtle, and he informed us that he was not.  Well, at 11:00PM what is one to do with a sizable stray turtle?  There was a river nearby, but it was quite a drop from the bridge in the dark, so we put him in some tall grass near the river and are trusting that it will find its own way to the water.  At least it now has more of a chance than it would have crossing the road.

A typhoon is said to be approaching Tokyo as of this afternoon.  I have not checked the news tonight.  Better do that.  That will make the turtle happy.  Edit:  Don't write late at night when you are not coherent.  I meant that the typhoon and the increased amounts of H2O raining down should make the turtle happy.

  • I'm sure it will. Turtles are known for getting grumpy when the news is not properly checked. ;-P

  • Glad to hear the turtle is safe and sound.

I thought I heard they downsized the storm ... but I could be wrong.  Storms are everywhere!!

I just want snow.  That is all!
