I am in Tokyo for a week. It is nice to be back "at home"! Wish I could stay. Ug, sometimes circulating between three cities messes with my mind. I feel like I am just watching a movie that I don't have much control over.
I had to become irate at the bank today. I needed to apply for some new ATM cards that cannot be forwarded to our address in Fukuoka, and I was given the distinct impression when I applied for the cards that they would be sent to our Inagi address and returned to and held at the Inagi Branch where I was to pick them up today. I went to pick up the cards and am told that they are being held for me at a card center in Chiba, which is across Tokyo Bay. Um, I was told nothing about the cards being held at a center possibly two hours away by train, I was told they would be at the Inagi branch office. Grrr.
Well, how soon can the cards be sent to Inagi? "It will take a week". I don't have a week, I need the cards by the day before I have to catch a plane back to Fukuoka. "The cards can be held for you." Lissen, I don't expect to be able to get back to TKO until perhaps December, and who knows where the cards will be? "True." I need to pick them up THIS week. "We don't know if we can do that." Well, you are going to have to do it. "We don't know." I suppose that I should be grateful that they are just saying they don't know. They could be saying it is "difficult" which translates as "No way Jose." Whaddya mean you don't know! Hello, ever heard of special delivery? It will certainly not take any five days to get those cards here. It will take two days at the most. "Well, the weekend is coming up and we just don't know... " This is absolutely ridiculous and I CAN'T wait that long. Somebody makes a phone call, and the cards will be here on Tuesday after two. The bank doors close at three, leaving me a huge window. I was inspired to do a bit of artwork with some natural materials I found on the sidewalk on the way back to the train station.

Interesting. What exactly is the dish you ordered? It doesn't look like Ramen... so that leaves me with no idea.
Or if it is, that's an interesting "broth" it's in.
God bless,

Yes, ramen it is! But it seems like all of the noodles in Fukuoka are the skinny type. Lemme tell you my opinion of the finest ramen: Ajigen in Shinjuku and Nogata Hope on Mieji Dori near Harajuku. The broth at Ajigen is out of this world and the noodles are nice and wavy. Nogata Hope's broth is great, too, but the noodles are straight. Now if I could just put Ajigen's noodles in Nogata Hope's broth... And don't forget the crushed garlic. It adds soooo much depth to the flavor!
