Still in TKO
Thanks for this reminder, Bruce, that it is not a good idea to swallow one's bubble gum.
Was running around doing this and that on Wednesday... I don't believe I ate the whole thing.
Perhaps clarification of the whole thing would be helpful. Daughter and I went to an Indian curry restaurant that has some unique dishes. This particular restaurant is located in the vicinity of the Indian Embassy, so I would suspect it is fairly authentic. Nan, a flatbread baked in a tandoor oven is a must, of course, and at this place they had garlic nan as well as many other varieties. Coconut prawn curry is also something that you don't run across every day. It is not often that we can get to this eatery, so we ordered three lovely curries, two plain nans, one garlic nan and partridge inna.... no, no, no... the curries were coconut prawn, butter chicken and spinach with cheese. We did not envision the portions being quite as generous as they were... Let's just say that I was afraid to cough on the train going home and didn't need any breakfast the next day.
This entry reminds me of letters Grandma Laverne used to write home when she was off visiting her sisters in Escanaba, Michigan. Mrs. Compukermann would look at them and laugh because they read more like menus than accounts of what was going on.
Today is maintenance day. As luck would have it, the outdoor gas water heater has decided to go on the fritz just when I am here to do something about it. The gas man is coming to have a look this afternoon. Another fellow is going to come change a part in the apartmental smoke detectors, which I think are overly sensitive. I mean, a mere bit of cooking wine in the frying pan can set them awail.
Hub called from Fukuoka this morning gleefully exclaiming that his cell phone is not working well. This gives him a legitimate excuse to get a new one, but I certainly don't want to have to listen to him trying to get used to operating a new device. I navigate around electronic whatevers by instinct, while he must look at the manual and forget what he read and complain to me that the thing must be defective. Well, he arrives in TKO tonight but has a business dinner, but we will gather for a family gathering tomorrow night. Hub heads back to Fukuoka (I don't wanna use the abbreviation that the airlines used for reasons that the readership well might imagine.) and I head back on Monday and will go to Kagoshima on Thursday on MIL business.

Omgoodness....what IS that on your profile pic??? No offense, but it really doesn't look delicious at all, except I do like lemons in my iced tea.
What whole thing did you eat? I am excited to know...
God bless,
~Scott
Sounds interesting.

Lol. I can totally guess that abbreviation. Someone needs to let the Japanese know it's okay to say more than 2 syllables!
I have enough to learn without memorizing all their shortened forms, too!
God bless,
~Scott
Fukuoka could be abbreviated FKA or FOK or FKK or FKO or anything else....
