Butter Shortage?
Hey Scott, see, we really have a butter shortage. Butter should be in all those empty spaces. The blocks at the lower right are butter, but they are $8.00 each.

I take it it's not country-wide, then? Or is it? Now I'm so confused... lol. ;_; I mean you live there, though, so if anyone's right it has to be you. Were they teasing me?

@gelatinemonkey - I don't understand why they had butter in Podunk, Kagoshima. Maybe they don't sell a lot of butter to begin with. I am assuming it is country wide. If they are Japanese in the US maybe they don't know about such mundanities (is that a word?) in the homeland. The picture is from a local Fukuoka supermarket taken last night. Like I said, I now have a small stash of butter in the freezer, so I have not been checking much recently.
