Tasha Tudor
I went to see a Tasha Tudor exhibition at Mitsukoshi Department Store yesterday. If you have not heard of her, please click here if you want to find out more. She is a 91 year old lady who really lives in the "good old days" and has written and illustrated many childrens' books. She has really created her own world on many levels which seems balanced on edges of living art and escapism into fanatasy. She is very popular here and has been featured in a series of specials on NHK, which is the Japanese BBC. The exhibit attracted a small crowd of mostly ladies who came to enjoy a taste of American life as it was lived in the 1800's.
Tasha Tudor passed away on June 18, 2008.
