  • Do these people resemble each other?

There is a reason for my question.  Do these people look like they could be the same person?  Sonny B recommended a novel to Hubby that theorizes that during the Meiji Restoration the one who should have been the emperor, one Mutsuhito, was secretly done in and the fellow on the left, Toranosuke Oomuro (a distant family member of anti-Tokugawan persuasion ) was slipped into his place to become the Meiji Emperor.  Oomuro is on the left, and the Meiji Emperor is on the right.  I found an Internet picture of Mutsuhito, but it is of too poor quality to be able to make any comparison.  I think that during this time in Japan's history there were many people in high places who died of "natural causes" as suspiciously young ages.  Is anyone following NHK's Sunday night historical drama "Atsuhime?"  They are dropping dead right and left, if not assassinated.

It is said that the original Mutsuhito was a natural born weakling who fainted at the sound of cannon fire, was afraid of horses and had also suffered from small pox.  The Meiji Emperor had no such scars and was a strapping fellow who totally enjoyed a good ride.  He also did not enjoy having his picture taken.  When Mutsuhito's mother was dying, he did not visit her bedside.  Oomuro also is said to have mysteriously disappeared after being kidnapped.  Hmmmm....  I don't know what difference all this makes now, but if it is true it is a shocking revelation.

The book was so interesting that Hub did not notice he had missed his train stop until he arrived at the end of the line.  By the way, Elvis and the other folks at Roswell all say, "Hi."
