Some Pictures from New Year's
Just in front of Hubby's house in Kagoshima is a huge poinsettia plant. You could even call it a tree! Here are some pictures of the tree and the local volcano, Scourging. It is letting out a puff of smoke.

These are come "lucky arrows" for sale, small ones for $15, and larger ones for $25.
This is where you can deposit the good luck charms purchased last year. The shrine will dispose of them for you.
This year is the year of the cow. I thought this was a really nice one. Hubby says that it looks like something Baal worshippers would like.

Koala poop paper and farting volcanos . . . nice.
@revsteve - Letting off steam is better than an eruption. Even a bit of volcanic ash can be pretty messy.
