Moved to the top by popular demand5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE
4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous). And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world ?
Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night! Here is a report from Cush, who sent me the recipe!OK, since I was the one to send this out I thought I would make the sacrifice and try it. I made it in a big mug like a soup mug, so mine did not rise over the top. It is able to be dumped out easily to a plate. I added chips to mine. It does make enough for two. It seems to be a bit tough, but getting softer as it cools (yes I am eating it hot, couldn't wait for it to cool). If I had some vanilla ice cream, I think that would go PERFECTLY with this. So, if you happen to have all the ingredients, you can have chocolate cake in 5 minutes. However, the new Betty Crocker delights are just as easy and quick, so you could just keep a supply of those in your pantry. I wonder if the size/shape of the mug had anything to do with the toughness. Maybe I should have cooked it just a bit less.
This report in from Cousin Tina:
Hi Connie! I was at your website this evening, and saw your entry asking if anyone else had tried the recipe out or not yet. I thought "what better time than now?!", and next thing you know Shayne and I are spending some quality time together in the kitchen, making chocolate cakes in mugs!! It was fun!!... and actually it was VERY good!! We used good soup mugs as well, and as I took it out of the microwave, after 3 minutes (and never knowing what wattage ours works at) it didn't look done to me. Still, I figured let it go and let it cool. I think we let it cool for about 10 minutes. We couldn'twait any longer than that, and finally dug in!! It looked (even without frosting!!... and I LIKE my frosting!!) and tasted delicious!! Would I make it again??... You bet!! In a pinch, during one of those times when I feel that sense of panic coming on, because I can't find ANY chocolate in the house to satisfy my addiction, I'm sure I'll be pulling THIS recipe out to save the day!!!... Sigh... It's VERY comforting, just KNOWING that, don't you think?

Thanks, bunches. I sorta misunderstood what you were trying to tell me the first time around. Sorry. This recipe looks like a keeper and a really fun thing to do with the g'kids (not to mention it's chocolate, yum yum) Thanks again.
