  • The New Baby has arrived! It's steel.

Today's "go somewhere" was Shika no Shima Island, and I will put pictures of that up later.  On the way back we passed through Tenjin, Fukuoka's downtown, and we stopped in at Shimamura's, which had a fantastic selection of guitars.  Yamaha was selling only Yamaha guitars, which I suppose makes sense.  I instantly decided that Shimamura's was the place to make any decisions, and asked the guy at the store what he recommended, and he said that "James" was pretty good for the amount I was planning to spend.  He left me in a room with James for a bit, and then brought in Martin.  My goodness, Martin made James sound like a piece of junk.  (This has nothing whatever to do with any hats, and I don't mean any offense to any Jameses.)  Martin was $100 more, but I knew that I could never be happy with James now!!  There was no turning back, and Little Martin LMX has arrived.   I do feel a bit guilty about going over budget, but I would have been unhappier having left Martin behind.   Now I just have to progress and improve on what I taught myself thirty years ago.  I wanna play like Baden Powell or Paul Simon or Rodrigo and Gabriela or or or...  I don't think the world is ready for me to try Jimi Hendrix.  I think that both Juan Carlos and Shusaku will approve my choice.  I had asked revsteve what he thought and got an answer on Facebook after Little Martin got home, and he had suggested that I get a Little Martin.  Yes, my right choice is confirmed.

  • Enjoy the guitar and don't forget to practice!

  • @Ufbad - Thanks!  My fingers hurt already.  Your truth question was interesting, but you might not like my answer. (^-^)  You seem to be doing a lot better lately.  Glad to see that.

  • @usalapinhazzer -

I'm not judging the answers. Just reading them. It is your truth, after all.

  • @Ufbad - for starters, I don't think there are any alternate realities.  The truth of gravity says that if you drop a stone  it falls to the ground.

  • I don't see how gravity relates to the possibility of alternate realities... More so, I don't see where I mentioned alternate realities in the Truth post or its follow up. The idea was that each individual exists within their personal reality which is modeled on their perspective of the external material reality.

  • @Ufbad - Sorry if there was a misunderstanding.  I was not saying anything in relation to your posts.  I was merely suggesting that as a starting point that we are all subject to the same "reality" in terms of the laws of physics, gravity being one of these.

  • @usalapinhazzer -

Only in the sense of the inclusive we being contained within our particular universe. Physics itself is where we get the idea of "alternate realities" or "parallel universes/dimensions" from. And my concept of reality is simply a shared physical universe being filtered through each individual's perceptions, thus our interacting and sometimes conflicting personal realities. There's different layers to it. External Physical Reality. Internal Psychic Reality. And then everything in between and beyond the two born of their interactions, conflict and balance.

  • @Ufbad - What we see as our Internal Psychic Reality may not always be formed by correct information/perception.  It is just my belief that my view of reality is both fallen and lacking in information/wisdom/understanding.  Only the God who created anything that there is has the correct view, and I find that attempting to align myself with that view makes me feel the most balanced.

  • @usalapinhazzer -

Which is exactly what I'm saying, except it's not about "correct" and "incorrect" but more about "in tune" and "out of tune". To me, anyways. The idea is that everyone has their life and each only knows their own experience.
