Well, we didn't have to reinstall after all. I found out that Norton Anti-Virus Definitions were taking up over 11GB of C Drive, and when I took it all out I was up to 62% open space rather than 1%. I am going to try AVG anti virus for a bit and see how things run. A reinstallation would have been a good study experience for dotter, who wanted to try it herself, but we are just as glad that it has become unnecessary.
One thing dotter did was consult with the new computer depot next door about how to make the XP run faster and she decided that the RAM memory needed increasing, so we had the operation done today, and things do seem to be running very smoothly.
Hubby flew into Tokyo this evening, so we will have to GO SOMEWHERE tomorrow. Don't mention the guitarlele yet. Maybe in a month or two. I am not hiding it but I am not advertising either. At least I paid cash and didn't put it on the credit card. I really do need the continuity and have been practicing my little fingers off.
