• Jimi Hendshake

  This poor fellow Ron passed away not long after this picture was taken. It was on the top floor of the Purariba building, and at the time they were selling bargain CDs and DVDs. There was a Jimi DVD and some kid commented on the "JimiHen" title, to which Ron softly retorted, "That's Jimi Hendrix, dammit!!" I think his brain was shot from too many drugs done in his youth and too much alchohol. We actually talked a few times, but he never seemed to remember it and always acted as if we were meeting for the first time. The last time I saw him his face was all red and blotchy, and he was cussing out his doctors for not knowing how to do anything to improve his situation. Whenever I ran into him he always smelled like booze, and it he was determined to drink himself to death I suppose that there was indeed nothing that the doctors could do for him. He left a wife and daughter behind.
