January 28 - Charango & B'day Party
Looks like we are gonna be in Fukuoka a bit longer than we thought, so we are getting a bit more furniture that will make this place seem more like a home and less like a camp. The recycle shop is delivering this afternoon, so I have to get ready and make space. Also have to go to JC's birthday bash at Fukuoka's Hard Rock Cafe.
Later - JC was also kind enough to show me his charango, a South American stringed instrument that includes a hairy little aramadillo. I never saw a guitar with a tail before! JC's son said the thing used to give him nightmares. He also gave a demonstration of the sound. Each note has double strings for added volume.
A good time was had at the Fukuoka Hard Rock Cafe, as seen below.
