2/1 Kushida Shrine
Here are a few random pictures from Kushida Shrine.
Shinto Wedding
These are last year's charms and amulets awaiting proper disposal by burning. Everyone bought fresh ones during their new year shrine visit so they don't need these anymore.
Now here is a pretty "ema" picture of one of Kushida Shrines Yamakasa Festival floats painted on a shingle. Since this is just garbage to be burned anyway I didn't see any harm in perloining it.
These were taken later on February 1. This large mask has been placed at the back entrance to the shrine, and to pass through you must be eaten.
On February 3 there is a traditional ceremony in which beans are thrown at devils to chase them out. This looks like a particularly nasty one.
To the side of Kushida Shrine there was a row of small shrines to various gods. Each one has its own apartment and ropes to ring the bells for prayer.
A pretty flower on the shrine premises.
