I am in Tokyo until next Thursday. Yesterday was a solo trip to Jindaiji Temple where they were holding a Daruma market that was very interesting. I actually bought a daruma, naughty me, but I had my reasons which will be explained later. Also found a nice little sake cup for hubby. I wish the Rakuyaki shop had stocked some larger pieces from the same kiln as the cup, but no luck (as if I needed another coffee mug). For some reason the Tokyo computer does not like my camera, so I will probably put pictures and video up when I get back to Fukuoka after spending a couple of daze in Kagoshima. I still want to know why the "sho" players kept rotisserizing their instruments over a hibachi. Was it to dry them out or to keep them warm?

Are you making a wish with your Daruma?
@Ufbad - You have one eye drawn in when you make the wish or establish the goal, and have the other drawn in when the goal is accomplished. I had both drawn in as a perhaps silly act of faith that I have already gotten from God what I have asked for.

I like that thought process. My Japanese teacher told me about Darumas. I've got a Daruma tea cup, but both his eyes were painted when I got him. Never really made a wish to have already come true though, perhaps I should...
