Hubby says there was a quake at 1:00am, but it went unnoticed by the rest of the residents.
More seeds were planted on the veranda. I am probably putting in too many, but who cares? While shopping today I also found the Ipomea (psycho morning glories) that we had been waiting for. I got six plants and will cram them in with the seeds that I planted and hope that they don't kill each other.
I did my BSF homework for next Wednesday. I really don't like doing it on the train and cutting things that close.
There seem to be a couple of new Japanese national anthems since the quake, both by the late entertainer Sakamoto Kyu. He died in a JAL plane crash about 30 years ago. Anybody remember the song "Sukiyaki?" That is what it was called in the US. In Japan the title is "Ue o Muite." The words mean "I'll walk looking up at the sky so my tears don't fall." I think it is kind of a depressing song, but people seem to be encouraged by it somehow. Maybe it's the "I'm gonna hang in there no matter what and triumph" mindset. Another song that became famous after Sakamoto died was "Miagete Goran" which is about looking up at the stars and getting hope. People often say that when someone dies they become a star, and they have always missed Kyu-chan, who was a beloved character on the TV screen.
Small quake at 3:37pm noticed by the resident. Another just as I was settling down after midnight. I appreciate the scheduling.
