    The Castle Moat

Let's proceed into the castle gate.

A model of the golden dolphins that grace the roof of Nagoya Castle

This feller was hanging around in costume.

This is a photograph or the original Nagoya Castle and the surrounding buildings before the were destroyed in WWII.

This is an artist's depiction of what the buildings looked like.

The city is reconstructing the buildings that were destroyed.

A view of Nagoya from the top floor of Nagoya Castle

There is a staircase in the center of the building.

Models of the fellows who built the castle walls.

Armor and weaponry in the castle

We are going to tour the construction site where the reconstrucion work is taking place.  Everyone get your hard hats!

Some people just can't cooperate in front of a camera!

This was taken at a tea house built on the Nagoya Castle grounds.  Sonny B is playing a "water harp."  When water is dripped into an earthen pot buried in the ground, the sound reverberates and a pleasant sound is produced.

Sonny B thinks it is worth recording on his smart phone.

Water striders grace the manhole covers in Nagoya.

    Next stop is Atsuta Shrine.

    Pose for the camera!

    An old and vernerated tree

People were leaving eggs as offerings neart the base of the tree.  I looked up the reason on the Internet.  They are for the snake god who is fond of eggs.  Alllllll right......

There is a wedding coming up, so strike up the band!

     The main shrine building

Nagoya Cochin chickens roam the premises.  Is this another eggy thing?

Out to eat at the end of a long day!  先ず はビール!!
