    August 9, 2012  Kagoshima Aquarium

Here are a bunch of pictures taken at Kagoshima Aquarium.  They were all taken through thick glass, so the focus is not what it might be.

Here is the entrance.  The aquarium is located near the docks for the ferry boats that cross over to the volcano Sakurajima several times a day.

    A fancy sea cucumber

    Small shark

Only a mother could love a face like this.

    Squids are so cute.

Even a mother might have trouble with this.

Oh for a pot of boiling water!

Does anyone have any soy sauce for all of this sashimi on the hoof?

    Small sea turtle

This looks yummy, too, but I suppose eatilng the exhibits is not polite.

    Lobsters of rare color

    Puffer fish, probably toxic

    Lamprey

    A huge camera shy eel

    Beeg fisch from the Amazon

These fish are called bora and are kept in a river outside of the aquarium.  They were lovely to watch in the sunlight, and the camera did not do them justice.

This is from a supermarket, which is why the focus is so much better. So is the taste!
