Chofu Station has now been officially moved underground, and the above ground part of the station is being dismantled. How many times did I stand on those platforms to go to Shinjuku on one side or to Takaosan on the other? Chofu Station has been getting more traffic in recent years, and the narrow platforms were becoming dangerously crowded. Moving the station underground should also help the traffic situation by eliminating railroad crossings.
