  • J2 students gave their speeches today, and they were all pretty good for the most part. One of the students in L's half of the class shed some tears during her speech, but I understand that she did well and told her the good report that I had heard. As I remember from previous speeches, this student just gets nervous and cries during speeches, but I am sure that she will outgrow it.  I did. She is a little sweetie and has a very helpful heart.  Got a chance to hang out just a bit with another couple of kids that I taught last year and listen to them lament that the teacher who checks their cleaning job is very scary. I tried to assure them that his bark is much worse than his bite, but I am not sure that I convinced them. Mr. Barker probably has a lot on his mind with the new school year starting and all.

Gee, there were only 46 earthquakes listed on NHK's website today and we still have an hour to go.  Most of them were in the Miyakejima Island area. Only two of the quakes were around mag 6, one near Miyakejima (5+) and the other up north in Ishinomaki (5-). Gonna go and invest in some Attends/brown underwear in case anything like that happens close to home. I REALLY hate it when those happen.
