I found this on another xangan's page and wanted to be able to reference it, so I copied/pasted it here. Can xanga be saved? Shall I move to WordPress? Even if xanga is saved, what will it be like? What changes will be made? Can I keep my Custom Module? If xanga folds do I get back the money I paid for a yearly subscription?
- Go to the archive page and click "update." Do this even if you've done it before.
- After the archiving machine has done its magic, click on #2, the one that says "wordpressWXR.zip."
- Save that zip file to your hard drive.
- Open the zip file and save the file inside it somewhere easy to find.
- Go to your WordPress site and find your dashboard.
- Click on "tools" and then on "import."
- You'll see a list of blog site names. Click on "WordPress."
- Use the uploader thingie to browse to that file you left in an easy-to-find place.
- Click "upload file and import."
- WordPress does the rest for you. Shazam! You're done.
