Emergency Translation
I got a call yesterday from the pastor to ask me to fill in as a translator today. It seems the the senior missionary who was going to do the translating lost his voice due to a cold and they needed someone to stand in at the last minute. I was able to meet with the speaker beforehand so that I could have some idea of what I would be translating, and although he seemed a bit frustrated at being restricted to a simple sermon, I think that what he said was actually pretty good. He preached from James 1 about how we will have difficulty with escaping the temptations that come along with trials if we don't believe in the goodness of God.
