  • Dern. That fancy long skinny feather hanging off of Nezun's posterior has been diagnosed as French molt. His wing feathers have fallen out and may never grow in properly, which means he may never be able to fly. Berdy still loves him just the same, though. French molt is from a virus which Berdy is probably now a carrier of, so the vet suggested that letting them reproduce is not a good idea. And it cost me over $100 to have them both checked for scaly face and pesticide to kill the mites that cause it. I wonder where Nezun contracted these problems? Probably at the breeders. Dern.
