  • Die Tote Stadt

Today was Opera Day and we went to see Korngold's "Die Tote Stadt." I can't get the pictures off the site, so you can click on the link if you are interested. It is about a guy who cannot move on because he is haunted by memories of his dead wife. He finally got over it, but it was all very sad. Intermission means Haagen-Dazs ice cream - vanilla or green tea? I found a flyer for the flute cases below during my wanderings in the lobby. There were a mere 115,000 Yen, or about $1,150. You put your flute and case inside this additional case. They were nice to look at, but also big, clunky and impractical, so that alone kept my wallet safe. I mean, one of those cases costs more than I paid for any of my flutes, anyway!
