10/31/2014 Jindaiji Temple
Fall is here, and what better place to enjoy it that in the Jindaiji Temple area?
These are called Karasu Uri, or crow melons. They grow on a vine and when the fruit ripens it looks like a string of Christmas lights. I have some of these vines in a flowerpot, but have yet to see them flower.
This is a plant shop on the way up to the Jindai Botanical Gardens.
This pottery shop produces clay bells, and it looks like the Halloween spirit has caught on!
Next year is the year of the sheep, so these clay bells are sheep-shape. This one came home with me and graces out entrance hall.
This lady is selling grilled rice balls covered in soy sauce, azuki bean paste or sasame paste, and they are all toasty delicious!
Looks like this tea shop got a new umbrella. It is going to close up soon, though.
Courtesan spiders fatten up during the fall and are seen everywhere.
