  • Recycle day is tomorrow, and today I took down another cartload of obsolete books and two bags of clothes that no one is wearing or will ever wear. Also had to go to pick up a last cleaning item from the kimono shop. There is a Japanese expression that translates as taking a ride in someone's mouth-wagon, or being talked into something. Haruki is soooo determined to sell me a kimono that I dread going. All I want is to maintain MIL's kimonos. He just doesn't understand no, and I really don't have time to waste on his lengthy sales pitches. Is he is trying to make me feel guilty about not buying something that is not cheap? Hello? I am trying to GET RID of kimonos, not add to the pile. Perhaps MIL was taken for rides in several mouth wagons and that is how she accumulated so many.
