Is this stool taken?
I have been eyeing a stool that has been abandoned outdoors at a bus stop near church. It seems pretty obvious that whoever owned it no longer wants it and is too stingy to pay for its collection by the sanitation services. Well, the stool is taken. I threw a large bag over it and kidnapped it from the bus stop. Bad me. It has a history - According to the sticker underneath, it is originally from Tokyo Denki University which has campuses in Chiba, Saitama and Adachi-ku, none of which is anywhere near that bus stop. The date of acqusition is "38," which could either mean 1938 or 1963 (Showa 38 = the 38th year of the reign of the Showa Emperor Hirohito). I am guessing that the latter date is closer to being the truth. It now sits proudly outside our front door, except when Haru comes to visit and we need an extra stool in Grandma's room.
