Oops, they did it again!
Mattel keeps coming out with these irresistable retro Barbie sets. They are very well done, and are much easier on this collector's wallet then real vintage. I wonder what kind of hair the Ken has, flocked or painted? I am pretty well stocked with enough Barbie and Ken dolls, but...
Here is a set that I am going to have trouble resisting. I have enough vintage Midges and Allans, as they are cheaper than vintage Barbie, and I do have the one vintage Midge repro, but this is sooo cute. What I would really like to see is a reissue of the Japanese market "New Midge." Original Midge did not sell well in Japan, so a new version was designed, a wigged doll with a totally differeny face that would appeal to a Japanese audience. This doll is a rarity and very expensive! I can't even find a picture of her in a Google image search. Lemmee check my files...
I managed to dig out a couple of pictures that I copied out of eBay. I saw one of these for sale at a meeting of the Japan Barbie Collector's Club when I was a member, but did not want to shell out $2000 for it. If you find one of these send it to me!!!

Yeah... I never really got into Barbie so....

I'll keep an eye out, though!
