Photo Challenge: I have some tails to tell...
You can't see our former bunny Ryucci's tail very well. It is still its original length. It got stepped on a wee bit the photographer and it must have been itchy because Ryucci started fussing with it so aggressively that she chewed it down to the bone and had to make a trip to the vet and spend the rest of the week in an Elizabeth collar.
A more distinguished portrait
This is not such a great picture that I took with my cell phone camera. These birdies hang their tails over the train platform to do their business, to the chagrin of those walking below, so someone came up with a creative solution. This is Noborito Train Station on the Nambu Line.
I must share the de-tails of another sad story. This pet parakeet named Banana escaped from the cage and since she is not finger trained she had to be caught. As she sat on the floor I managed to slap my hand down on her hindfeathers, but when I attempted to get control of the entire bird, she bit down hard on my hand. Hands have a way of automatically recoiling from a source of pain... She didn't let go of the death grip that she had on my finger. I am glad that her head was attached more firmly than her tail, which she is now lacking in the picture.
Here is a lovely child who still has a great imagination in today's world of computer games!! (Taken in the 'hood.)

those photos are lovely! especially the second one
nerd bunny!
i used to have that kind of bird too but unfortunately, snake ate them all!
former bunny? what happened?
@ihsankhairir - Bunnys are very delicate. We had this one for four years and she ate her own tail, had a hairball operation and then finally had infections in her teeth. She went to live in a big flowerpot on our veranda in October 2003. We still miss her and scold her for dying on us! She was very sweet and we loved her very much. She slept with me and wet the bed sometimes, but I didn't mind unless it was next to my pillow. My daughter has a boy bunny now and says he is her boyfriend so she doesn't need anybody. But his manners are bad sometimes if he sees a naked leg. Haha!
Great stories along with the images. I do have a bird bite, they can hurt. Love the photo of the little girl and the story of the baby birds and the umbrella (very innovative). Wonderful entry, all of it. That bunny looks like the life of Riley on her quilts.
Have a super week,
That bunny is adorable!
@PhotoGraphics - I had another picture of a hippopotamus tail, but I didn't want to gross out the audience. EW! You can go see it by visiting the "Fukuoka Zoo" link if you really want to.
I love bunnies so much. Banana would have been squished if he clamped down on my finger. I am not that crazy about birds....
Nice post and I too like the bespectacled bunny pic. Shame pets often have to move on before we do.
I like the last one too.. where's the 'hood'?
@SoOffBase - I like birds, just not when they are clamped on to my finger.
@rojobe - We have a condo outside of Tokyo proper in a city called Inagi. We also spend time down south in Fukuoka and Kagoshima. I look forward to when I can stop moving around, but then again I should take advantage of it and learn as much as I can about the different places.
This picture was taken outside our local supermarket. Kids have kind of lost their sense of creative imagination in recent years, and this was a breath of fresh air. She even had the courage to sport her tail outside! (^-^) My daughter now has another bunny and we tried to get it to wear specs, but he said his eyesight is just fine, thank you, and was not interested in cooperating at all.
I love the shot with the bunny wearing the glasses! And the barn swallows...the umbrella is a wonderful idea. We have barn swallows by our front door and I have to hose down the entry way to our house daily because of all the bird poop.
Know the story why a bunny does not have a tail?
@Zeal4living - I would certainly be interested to know!
cute pics! thanks for sharing
@FourthChance - thanks for looking!
Love that picture of the girl!
