We got to meet up with Sonny B for a bit yesterday. He thought he was going to have band practice all day, but the practice was rescheduled for the evening, so we all went out to our favorite ramen shop, to see Mummy III and then out for tempura. I had a bag of goodies for him - a box of penguins from Fukuoka Marine World, a monkey from Kumamoto, a couple of books, some microwave popcorn and macaroni and cheese from Costco and four servings of ramen from Fukuoka, and a CD by Sergio Mendez (I like it you listen to it). I understand that the Mummy III has received less than glowing reviews, but I liked it anyway, so there. I was a bit unsettled by the wanton distruction of important cultural properties, but if they are comin' to getcha there are really not a whole lot of alternatives. And why do the Chinese insist that Evelyn decipher the writing on the diamond? Can't they read it themselves? The yetis were cute.

i heard about some negative review too but it's sci-fi and mostly focus on FX on screen so i don't mind about story line so much!
