Here are the stars of today's entry, "gelatinemonkey" and his lovely wife.

It is really nice to actually meet and get to know Xanga friends!  After a trip to the Suntory Museum to see the above exhibit of early paintings by Japanese depicting foreign visitors and a picnic lunch outside, we went to the Tokyo Metropolitan Offices to get a view of the city from the free observation towers.

    Up we go!

It was too hazy for a view of Mount Fuji, but the sunbeams were something to see!  The tall buildings on the left are the Tokyo Opera City complex.

Some ladies were ooh-ing over the imperial grounds in the middle of the picture, but I informed them that it is actually Meiji Shrine.  The Olympic Village where hubby once worked can be seen on the right side of the forest.  No, those white pillars over the shrine are not an alien abduction attempt, they are just reflections on the window.

These souvenir chopsticks were quite different, all shaped like Bullet Trains!  Now that might be an interesting way to get food into a fussy eater.  That reminds me, gelatinemonkey said that he doesn't like mushrooms.  Sally, we have to do something about that!  Mrs. gelatinemonkey said that Mr. likes to put things (cardboard and whatnot) over windows to keep out light from early sunrises.  Hmmm...  Hubby does the same thing.  Maybe they should compare notes.
