January 30, 2012 Kirk Franklin Concert
Sonny B took me to see Kirk Franklin! I had one of his albums and thought he was great, and now I think he is greater. The man is a little dynamo! He sings, but mostly he just kind of stands on the stage and inspired everyone else by keeping things stirred up. Sonny B says that this is referred to as being an agitator. Naru hodo. Gospel music is popular in Japan, but people like the beat and don't pay any attention to the message. Kirk invited some ladies from the audience to come up and sing with him, but one lady came up and came on to him, like I thought she was gonna start snogging him any minute! What a shameless hussy! He remarked that she must not have seen his wedding ring, and the backup singers (one was his daughter) changed the "na-na-nas" that they were singing to "no-no-nos!" The concert was great, and I got to shake Kirk's left hand as he left the stage. Hussy managed to find her way to Kirk again and started hugging on him, but he managed to disengage before his bodyguards had to extricate him from the grasp of the clinging Venus. Some people just don't get it. Anyway, Sonny B and I had a nice time, and it's too bad that we were not allowed to take any pictures during the concert.
