We had a speech contest at school yesterday and I had to be the judge. It's hard to pick three winners when I want to tell all the girls they are winners! One of the kids was trying soooo hard to have enough good hand gestures that she ended up knocking the top off the microphone. She did manage to recover her composure and finish her speech nicely. She totally lost it when the contest was finished, but I told her that I would not take off a single point for her "happening," and it was ok to stop crying. Another teacher praised her for being able to deal with her happening and go on to finish. Her speech was not the best, but it was certainly the most memorable!
