Cremation today - The method for getting bones off the cookie sheet and into the urn differed a bit from Auntie's case. For Auntie people on one side of the cookie sheet picked up a bone with chopsticks, passed it over to a person on the other side and then the receiver deposited the bone in the urn. Bachan was done at a different crematorium. All of us continued to pass around the cookie sheet a la ring around the rosie, the person closest to the urn depositing a bone. Selection of what to put into the urn was done by the crematorium worker. As with Auntie, all of the bones did not go into the urn, but rather a selection from foot to head of representative bones, skull on top. The remainder of the bones would be chanted over by a priest and disposed of "properly."
Time for the girls to go back home and to work. Dotter returns by train and Dotternlaw will return by plane after Sonny B sees her off at the airport. He will stay on an extra day for business.
