Niskayuna Neighborhood
Barb Russ MacBurnie was kind enough to drive us around our old neighborhood.
The Lawry House next door
The hill where we used to sled in winter between the Lawry's and Massengill's houses. Lee was a bully.
Down the hill and into the park
2313 Niskayuna Drive where we lived. My dad redid the attic as a huge bedroom for the boys. It was freezing in winter and hot in summer. The new owners undid all his work and added a proper second story. I was very upset at the age of twelve to be moving here out of the city and away from my grandmothers, but we still saw plenty of them and moving here was the best thing my parents ever did.
Driving down the streets in Niskayuna is like driving through a park.
Barb's house. It was a really nice one, and her dad would make a skating rink in the back yard in winter.
