  • Noritake in Nagoya

Today is a trip with Emiko-san to see the Noritake Museum in Nagoya. The first thing that we take in is an exhibit of a local artist. The moogles were adorable, but where would I put one?

Next is the Museum itself. First we walked through some displays of how the ceramics are made, but pictures are not allowed in that area. Next we entered some rooms that showed samples of dishes and patterns that Noritake has produced over the years. The pattern below is Azalea, first produced for export in 1914. I am the proud owner of a set of these minus a saucer that broke in transit. They were a wedding present for to my grandmother and we ate off of them every holiday.
