Yamakataya Restaurant Remodeled
I have arrived in Kagoshima to do some important errands, but I have time for a quick trip to Kagoshima's oldest and best department store, Yamakataya. They have remodeled the top floor restaurant to restore it to its former prewar glory. It was one of the only buildings that was left standing after the city was firebombed in WWII. Bachan used to love the fried noodles served here, so I want and had a dish of them in her honor. It was not a difficult task to perform, as I like them, too. The local volcano Sakurajima gives us a show. The construction is on the new Kagoshima Bank building, where Jichan used to work
